Introduction to Heluo drum
Applicant: Luoyang City, Henan Province
Heluo Dagu, originated in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, was developed on the basis of Luoyang Qinshu. Luoyang Qinshu was formerly known as "Qinyin". The early accompaniment instrument was the traditional Qixian Guqin in China. "Qinyin" was sung among officials, gentry and literati, with elegant lyrics and music. After it entered the folk, it was renamed "Qinshu", and its Qin was also changed to Yangqin. In the early days of Luoyang Qinshu, the singing style was mostly close eyes and sit singing. Its singing style was euphemistic and delicate, with few words and many tunes. Its rhythm was slow and sluggish. Its singing bibliography was mostly short stories and medium stories about the joys and sorrows of gifted scholars and beautiful ladies. In the early 19th century, Heluo Dagu was formed by the combination of Luoyang Qinshu and "dandagu", and absorbed some tunes of Henan Zhuizi. In its early days, it was known as "dagushu", "drum touching string" and "steel plate book". In the early 1950s, it was named Heluo drum. The singing style belongs to "banqiang style", which is rich in banqiang style and convenient for all kinds of books. In traditional programs, there are many long bibliographies such as Gongan book, Wuxia book and paodai book.
In the process of Heluo drum inheritance, there have been many well-known artists. Zhang Tianbei, the second generation's successor, is almost a household name in Luoyang. Cheng Wenhe, the third generation's successor, is well-known in western Henan, and once represented Henan in the first national music Congress. Zhao yunjiejiang was praised by national leaders. Duan Jieping, the fourth generation's successor, and Wang Xiaoyue, the former head of Henan quyi troupe, were all famous. However, with the development and changes of the times, Luoyang quyi has fallen into a low ebb. Many cities and counties have canceled quyi teams, and most of the quyi performers have changed their careers or entered the folk, and they have survived. In recent years, some well-known old artists have passed away one after another, and there is no successor. This representative variety of folk art in Luoyang is on the verge of extinction, which is in urgent need of rescue and protection.
