Introduction to leting drum
Applicant: leting County, Hebei Province
Leting Dagu is a representative form of Quyi Gushu and Guqu in North China, which is widely spread in Eastern Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin and northeast Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other places. During the performance, one person stood up to rap with his own drumsticks, while another person was accompanied by three stringed instruments. Legend has it that leting Dagu was founded by Wen Rong in leting County, Hebei Province around 1850. It was once called "three flowers of folk art in Eastern Hebei Province" together with Pingxi and Tangshan Shadow play. Since its formation, celebrities have emerged in large numbers, spread widely, and have a relatively deep mass foundation and cultural heritage. Besides Wen Rong, his successors Chen Jichang, Qi Zhen, Feng Fuchang, Wang Enhong, Wang Deyou, Qi Yongwu, Qi Wenfeng, Han Xiangpu, Jin wenran, Zhang Yunxia, Jia Youran and Yao Shunyue are the representative artists in various historical periods. Among them, Han Xiangpu and Jin wenran in the period of the Republic of China are the most famous. Their respective arts are respected as "Han (Xiangpu) school" and "Jin wenran school"“ Jin (Wen ran) school.
There are more than 300 traditional songs (Books) of leting Dagu from generation to generation, including long, medium and short ones. Among them, Donghan, Sui and Tang, Sanxia and Wuyi, huyanqing challenge, jinlingfu, xiaoshangfen, lanqiaohui, guchenghui, yutangchun and changshengdian are typical representatives. The lyrics of leting drum are flexible and elegant, which has high literary value. Its singing music is of banqiang style, with rich and varied tunes. In addition to complete adagio, flowing adagio, Allegro and scattered adagio, there are two kinds of different tonalities: shangzidiao and fanzidiao.
At present, leting drum is in a serious decline in its development, which is in urgent need of support and rescue.
