Introduction to nursery rhymes (Minnan nursery rhymes)
Applicant: Xiamen City, Fujian Province
Nursery rhyme refers to the ballad without music score that is sung in children's mouth. It is a kind of ballad with special significance that is read, Sung and spread by special groups all over the country. Nursery rhymes have a history of thousands of years in China. There are many records of nursery rhymes in the official revision history, miscellaneous biographies, notes and novels. Nursery rhymes mainly have written and oral transmission. Their language is simple and easy to understand, and their content is simple and natural. They are excellent representatives of folk literature and art. Nursery rhymes have accumulated excellent national culture and rich educational contents.
Minnan children's ballads are children's ballads created and sung in Minnan dialect. They are popular in Minnan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. According to children's understanding ability and psychological characteristics, Minnan people used complex and musical rhymes and tonal stanzas in Minnan dialect to create, and constantly modified and supplemented in the process of singing.
There is no detailed written record of the origin and evolution of Minnan nursery rhymes. However, from the local books of Fujian, the folk nursery rhyme moonlight of Minnan in Tang Dynasty is different from today's nursery rhymes of the same name, but the theme and structure are very similar. Therefore, Minnan nursery rhymes have appeared in Tang Dynasty. After the middle of Ming Dynasty, with the approval of Taiwan and Nanyang by Minnan people's Congress, Minnan nursery rhymes also spread to Taiwan and Nanyang.
According to its content, Minnan nursery rhymes can be divided into current politics (such as "shooting Japan"), parenting (such as "shaking and shaking"), games (such as "clapping song"), animals (such as "little bee"), plants (such as "fruit song"), knowledge (such as "one two three"), folk customs (such as "encircling the furnace for the new year") and fun (such as "a Bu Dao"), etc. According to its form, it can be divided into Lullaby (e.g. "Wu Wu Ying"), narrative (e.g. "he Shun Ge"), question and answer song (e.g. "grasshopper Gong"), chain tune (e.g. "white egret"), riddle (e.g. "one point one picture long"), tongue twister (e.g. "copper nail copper plate") and so on. According to the form of performance, it can be divided into recitation (oral reading or recitation), singing (singing nursery rhymes with music), drama Ballads (reciting nursery rhymes while playing games), dance Ballads (reading nursery rhymes while dancing), etc.
Minnan nursery rhyme is a treasure house of rich knowledge, which is one of the important means to help children learn language, understand society and understand life. Due to the impact of modern culture and the loss of dialects, the nursery rhymes in Southern Fujian are gradually far away from children. We must take various effective measures to do a good job in the rescue and protection of nursery rhymes in Southern Fujian.
