Shengpu Street
Shengpu is located in the east of Taihu Lake water network plain. It is a humid monsoon climate area in north subtropical zone. It has four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, pleasant climate and fertile land. It can be called "land of fish and rice". The geographical coordinates are 31 ° 17 ′ - 31 ° 20 ′ N and 120 ° 47 ′ - 120 ° 51 ′ E. The ancient Wusong River flows around the southern end of Shengpu from west to East and turns north. Jiepu, Jianpu, Xinpu, gupu, Qingqiupu, fenglipu, Youyi River and other rivers run through each other. Shengpu is a typical "water town in the south of the Yangtze River".
The district covers an area of 17.85 square kilometers, with nine communities under its jurisdiction: Town, Xingpu, Jinyuan, Yuandong, Wusong, Xinsheng garden, langhuayuan, wentaoyuan and binjiangyuan. The administrative village was completely abolished in early 2010. By the end of 2014, the total population of the streets was about 90 thousand, of which 30 thousand of the registered residence population and 60 thousand of the floating population.

In 1911, the revolution of 1911 broke out, and Suzhou government and three counties including Changzhou County, Yuanhe county and Wuxian county were set up. Today, Shengpu belongs to Suzhou. in the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Suzhou was renamed Wu County, with 7 cities and 21 townships. Today, the East 19 capitals of Shengpu area are subordinate to Luzhi township of Wu County, while the half 19 capitals, the South 19 capitals and the upper 21 capitals are subordinate to Weiting township of Wu County. in 1929, Wu County implemented district and township system. Today, donghenggang Township, niucaowu Township, xijiangtian Township, Hetian Township, Songxiang Township, sanjiacun Township, daijiatian Township, Nanzhou Township, zhaojiawan Township, Dengxiang Township and Wuxiang township are still under the ninth district (Weiting), while Dagang Township, Nanli Township, Beili Township, Zhangwu Township, Qiandai Township, Jiangtian Township and Pubei township are still under the Tenth District (Luzhi). In 1934, Wu County readjusted its division of districts and towns. Jinsha Township and Qingqiu Township in Shengpu district are under the jurisdiction of the Ninth District, and Songbei township is under the jurisdiction of the Tenth District. in the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947 AD), Wu County was divided into nine districts and 138 townships. Jinsha Township, Qingqiu Township and Songbei Township belong to Songbei district. in February of the 37th year of the Republic of China (A.D. 1948), Wu County merged towns. Jinsha Township, Qingqiu Township, Songbei Township and Jiangbian township (now Xietang area) were merged into Songbei township. In May of that year, Wuxian merged Songbei and Songnan into Wusong district. Now Shengpu area belongs to Songbei Township, Wusong district. on April 27, 1949, Wu County was liberated. It has eight districts and 48 townships. Now Shengpu area belongs to Songbei Township, Songbei district. In November 1949, Wu County was rebuilt into a new township. Shengpu Township, Jiapu Township and Songbei township are all under the jurisdiction of Songbei district. In March 1950, Weiting district was built in Wuxian County, and Shengpu Township, Jiapu Township and Songbei Township were under the jurisdiction of Weiting district. In March 1956, small township of Wu County merged with middle township. Jiapu and Shengpu are merged into Shengpu Township, Songbei and Wusong (now Xietang area) are merged into Wusong Township, which is still Weiting district. In 1957, Wuxian district was withdrawn and merged with Township, and part of Wusong township was merged with Shengpu township. Shengpu township is a county township. In 1958, Shengpu township was renamed Shengpu people's commune. In 1983, Shengpu people's commune was abolished and the system of Shengpu township was restored. in March 1994, Shengpu town was built from township. In May 1994, Shengpu town was established and put under the direct jurisdiction of Suzhou Municipal People's government. The administrative power of Suzhou Industrial Park Management Committee, an agency dispatched by Suzhou municipal government, has continued to this day. in 2012, the town was withdrawn to build streets.

Before the Republic of China, part of Shengpu area belonged to Yiren township of Yuanhe County, and the other part belonged to Wugong township of Yuanhe county. In 1912, it belonged to Weiting Township and Luzhi township of Wu County. In 1929, it belonged to the ninth and tenth districts of Wu County. In 1947, it was transferred to Songbei District of Wuxian county. In 1948, it belonged to Wusong District of Wuxian county. At the beginning of the founding of the people's Republic of China, zhuoshenpu township was built, belonging to Wu County.
