Xuebu town

Xuebu Town, a key town in Jiangsu Province, is under the jurisdiction of Jintan District of Changzhou City. It is located at the east foot of Maoshan mountain and the west gate of Changzhou City. It is called "Wuzhong gate" in ancient times. It is located at the junction of Jintan District, Liyang City and Jurong city. It borders Bieqiao town of Liyang City in the southwest, Zhiqian town of Jintan District in the southeast, Zhulin town of Jintan District in the East, Zhixi town of Jintan District in the north and Jurong City in the West Mopan Township borders.

Xuebu town is supported by four major industries: building materials, medicine and chemical industry, textile and garment industry and mechanical processing industry. In 2013, Xuebu town achieved a large-scale industrial output value of 3.429 billion yuan, a public budget revenue of 116 million yuan, a taxable industrial sales revenue of 3.29 billion yuan, and a per capita net income of 20100 yuan for farmers.

Xuebu Town, with a total area of 132.63 square kilometers (2017), has jurisdiction over 26 administrative villages and 3 communities, with a total population of 52436 (2017). In September 2018, it was selected into the list of demonstration construction of strong agricultural towns.

Historical evolution

Xuebu town was formed before the Qing Dynasty. It was originally named after the wharf built by the surname Xue.

In January 2000, Xuebu Town, Huashan Township and Luocun Township were merged into Xuebu town; Ximin town and Maolu town were merged into Maolu town.

In October 2001, the municipal farms and nurseries implemented territorial management. The state-owned Maodong forest farm, the state-owned Fanglu tea farm and the municipal pig farm were assigned to Xuebu Town, and the state-owned Maolu tea farm was assigned to Maolu town.

In March 2007, Xuebu town and Maolu town were abolished, and the former two towns were merged to establish a new Xuebu town. A market town area of 4.2 square kilometers will be built, with Baihua East Road as the central axis, and the total length of streets will exceed 15 kilometers.

Xuebu town is located 19 kilometers west of Jintan district. It is an important mountainous town adjacent to Jintan, Liyang, Jurong, Danyang and Dantu. It is the west gate of Changzhou. It borders Bieqiao town of Liyang City in the southwest, Zhiqian town of Jintan District in the southeast, Zhulin town of Jintan District in the East, Zhixi town of Jintan District in the north and Mopan town of Jurong City in the West.

Xuebu town is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta and Shanghai Economic Cooperation Zone. Two expressways along the Yangtze River and Yangli run through the town and connect with Shanghai Nanjing and Nanjing Hangzhou expressways.
