Changjing town
Changjing town belongs to Jiangyin City of Jiangsu Province, so it is called Dongshun city. It is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River. It has a long history, outstanding people and profound culture. It is one of the birthplaces of Wu culture. According to textual research, it has a history of more than 7000 years, a civilization history of more than 5000 years and a written history of 2500 years. Changjing town is located in the southeast of Jiangyin City, with a total area of 54 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 12 administrative villages and a total population of 90800 (2017). In 2013, the gross regional product was 5.6 billion yuan, and the industrial and commercial invoice sales was 15 billion yuan. In 2018, the national health county (township) was reconfirmed.
In October 2019, Changjing town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".
Historical evolution
Changjing town was built in 1949, which is subordinate to Chengdong District of Jiangyin county. In 1957, Changjing Town, nanjiguo Township and Hetang Township were merged into Changjing township. Changjing commune was changed in 1958, Changjing Township in 1984 and Changjing town in October 1986. In 1996, it covers an area of 33.3 square kilometers and has a population of 37000. It has jurisdiction over 19 administrative villages in Jingnan, Jingxin, Xinlian, Heping, Jingdong, Changnan, Xili, dongxinqiao, Changdong, Liyuan, Hongqi, Houxiang, Changxin, Anxiang, Huayuan, Changjing, Jingbei, Yeqiao, Liuqiao and the neighborhood committee of Changjing town.
In June 2001, Changjing town and Hetang Town merged to establish a new Changjing town.? In, it was under the jurisdiction of Gushan town in the East, Donggang Town in Xishan District in the south, Zhutang town in the west, Huashi town and Xinqiao Town in the north. It covers an area of 54 square kilometers, of which the built-up area of the town is 4.5 square kilometers. The registered residence population is 55 thousand and 440. The former Hetang Town is located in the southeast of the city, 28 kilometers away from Jiangyin City and 25 kilometers away from Wuxi City. It covers an area of 28 square kilometers. It was formerly known as Hetang bridge and Hetang bridge. It gradually became a small town in the late Ming Dynasty, and changed its name in the Qing Dynasty. It was called Hetang Township in 1949 and belonged to Changjing and Wenlin communes in 1958. Hetang commune was analyzed in 1961, Hetang township was changed in 1983, and Hetang Town was changed in 1991. In 1996, it covers an area of 21 square kilometers and has a population of 20000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages including Qianxiang, Caiqiao, Hetang, Hedong, Fanzhuang, Pushi, Jiangjia, Xiejin, Nanshan, Wangjia and the neighborhood committee of Hetang Town. In 2001, the town was withdrawn and merged into Changjing town.
