Yangjian town

Yangjian town belongs to Xishan District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, located at the junction of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. With a total area of 50.8 square kilometers and a total population of 55000, it has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages and one community neighborhood committee.

In 2018, Yangjian town reconfirmed as a national health county (township). In October 2019, Yangjian town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

It got its name because it was located at the sharp corner of the intersection of yangjiantang and yanyanghe, and later evolved into Yangjian. The ownership is changeable, with Xianghua bridge in the town as the boundary, Changshu as the east of the bridge, and Ganhua as the old town; Wuxi as the west of the bridge, and huaixia as the old town. It was named Yanghua town in 1949 and Yangjian town in 1950. In September 1952, Qiaodong part of Changshu county was merged into Wuxi County, ending the situation that two counties were divided into one town. In 1958, Yangjian Township, Fengqiao Township, Anding Township, Wanshan Township, Yangjian Town, yanjiaqiao Township and Langxia township of Wuxi County were merged into Yangjian Township and then changed into Yangjian commune. It was changed to Yangjian Township in 1983 and Yangjian town in 1993. In 1996, it covers an area of 50 square kilometers and has a population of 41000. It is 100km away from Shanghai in the East, less than 15km away from Wuxi airport, Huning Expressway and 312 National Road, and 5km away from Beijing Shanghai high speed railway station.
