Moling Street
Moling street, belonging to Jiangning District of Nanjing City, is located in the middle of Jiangning District. It faces Hushu across Qinhuai River in the East, Guli in the west, Lukou in the South and Development Zone and Science Park in the north. It is the main urban area, core area and economic center of Jiangning City. Moling is bordered by six streets in ten streets of the District, with a total area of 185.3 square kilometers and a permanent population of 386552 (2010). It is in the first place in the whole district and ranked in the top ten of the city. Moling is a famous town in Jiangsu Province with a history of more than 2000 years. Moling county was set up after the first emperor of Qin unified the six countries. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages including Dongwang, Xiwang, Qiaonan, Zhouqiao, Dali, Xiaoli, Jiannong, Dongbu, Huoju, houwei, Shuangji, Jiayuan, Gaotang, Xinfeng, Fenghuang, Jincun and the neighborhood committee of moling town. At the end of 2000, moling town was connected with Dongshan Town in the north, Longdu town across Qinhuai River in the East, dongshanqiao town in the west, 21 kilometers away from Nanjing City, 7.5 kilometers away from Lukou International Airport in the south, covering an area of 57.3 square kilometers, 9328 households and 33606 people. It has jurisdiction over 4 neighborhood committees, 16 villages, 1 forest farm and 98 natural villages (villagers' groups). In 2003, moling town had jurisdiction over seven communities including Qiaonan, Dongwang, Shuangjin, Xiwang, Jiayuan, Xinfeng and Gaotang, and five administrative villages including torch, houwei, Fenghuang, Zhouli and Jiandong.
The original Fangshan street was a part of Qiaotou town, Gonghe Township, Fangshan Township, Yangqiao Township and JieXi town in 1950. It was merged into Qiaotou Township and JieXi Township in 1956 and merged into Dongshan Town in 1957. It belonged to Dongshan commune in 1958. Fangshan commune was established in 1961 and changed to township in 1982. In 1996, it covers an area of 41 square kilometers and has a population of 21000. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages and the neighborhood committee of HENGLING Town, including Hengling, Gaoshan, Fangqian, Yangcun, Yangqiao, Xinhe, Jiankang, Fangshan, Dongfang, Chayuan, Gonghe, Chengshan and Qiaotou. On February 21, 2000, the municipal government approved the abolition of Fangshan Township and the establishment of Fangshan town; in March, Fangshan town was abolished and merged into Dongshan Town and the establishment of Fangshan office; in June, Chengshan, Qiaotou and Gaoshan villages were handed over to Nanjing private science and technology park for management. The former baijiahu Street belonged to suiche Township in Qing Dynasty, and it was Yinxiang Township before 1949. After Yinxiang, Duqiao and other townships, under the jurisdiction of Dongshan District, Jiangning County. In 1957, it was also called Yinxiang township. In 1958, it was returned to Dongshan commune. In 1962, Yinxiang commune was established and changed to Yinxiang Township in 1982. In 1996, it covers an area of 31.5 square kilometers and has a population of 17000. It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages including Yinxiang, Qianzhuang, Xiaxu, Pugang, Duqiao, Zhucun, Qilin and Wuku, and the neighborhood committee of Yinxiang town. In March 2000, Yinxiang township was abolished and merged into Dongshan Town, which was managed by the development zone. On March 29, 2002, the original Yinxiang township was set up as baijiahu street; on June 26, the street office was set up; it has jurisdiction over 8 communities, 9 administrative villages, 79 resident groups and 158 villager groups, with a total population of 38258, including 29095 agricultural population.
