Fengpu Street

Fengpu street is a community, which refers to the community formed after the implementation of the separation of government and enterprise in Shanghai Industrial Development Zone in 2011. It is the reform and innovation of economic and social development.

Now Fengpu street belongs to Fengxian District of Shanghai.

Historical evolution

In May 1994, Fengpu Development Zone Management Committee of Fengxian County was established, with a planning area of 16.32 square kilometers. In August 1995, Shanghai municipal government approved the establishment of Shanghai Fengpu Industrial Zone, which is a municipal industrial zone. In February 2000, the people's Government of Fengxian County and Shanghai Industrial Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. jointly funded the establishment of Shanghai Industrial Comprehensive Development Zone Co., Ltd. in April of the same year, it was renamed "Shanghai Industrial Comprehensive Development Zone". The planned area will increase to 20.80 square kilometers, including 14.6 square kilometers of industrial area and 6.2 square kilometers of living area. The area covers an area of 15.51 square kilometers, reaching S4 Hujin Expressway in the East, Punan canal in the south, diangang to Huhang highway in the west, Chengpu road to Huancheng West Road in the west, Fengpu avenue to the north of Zhugang, and Xidu Street development village and Jingang village in the north. The Party Working Committee and office of Fengpu Street are located in Fengpu building, 111 Fengpu Avenue.

On September 30, 2016, Fengpu street, Fengxian District, Shanghai was officially established. The permanent population is about 62 thousand and 400, with a registered residence of about 19 thousand and 200. It has jurisdiction over 12 neighborhood committees and 5 village committees.

Social construction

As a management system, it has played an active role in regional public management and service, but it lacks legal basis and dominant position in the sense of administrative division, which leads to many inconveniences and problems in administrative law enforcement and social construction. There are both industrial areas and residential areas in the community, as well as the urban-rural fringe of the former Xiaotang area. The residents have a strong demand for the optimization of social management and the refinement of public services, which are diversified, multi-level and personalized. It is urgent to respond effectively to meet the people's thoughts, expectations and needs. Fengxian District takes the opportunity of "innovating social governance and strengthening grass-roots construction" to separate the existing administrative divisions of Fengpu community from Nanqiao town and establish Fengpu street, so as to improve the refinement level of urban management and service. On May 10, Fengxian District held a democratic consultative conference to listen to the opinions and suggestions of people outside the party. at the Democratic consultative conference, many non party personages suggested that in the process of separation, the district Party committee and the district government should not only pay attention to the top-level design, but also be problem oriented and forward-looking to consider the issues of balanced education, commercial and economic development, so as to make Fengpu residents have more sense of gain.
