Miaohang town

Miaohang Town, belonging to Baoshan District of Shanghai, is located in the south of Baoshan District, 8 kilometers away from Shanghai new passenger station and 14 kilometers away from Baoshan District government. It is connected with zhangmiao street in the East, Pengpu new village street in Jing'an District in the south, Dachang Town in the West and Yangxing and Gucun towns in the north.

In 2017, the administrative area of Miaohang town was 5.89 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 103229.

In May 2020, it will be selected as Wenming town of Shanghai from 2018 to 2019.

General situation of temple tour

Miaohang is located in the central and southern part of Baoshan District, adjacent to zhangmiao street and Gaojing town in the East (bounded by Gonghexin Road); Pengpu town in Jing'an District in the South; Dachang Town in the West; Gucun town and Yangxing town in the North (bounded by ganzaobang).

Miaohang has convenient transportation and obvious location advantages. It is located between the outer ring road and the inner ring road, close to the central urban area. There are Gonghexin Road viaduct, rail transit line 1 (the planned line M18 also passes through the town) and so on in the town. It is only 12 km away from the people's Square.

Historical evolution

According to the records of Baoshan County written by Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, there is a local Sicao Temple (destroyed in the Anti Japanese War and the Cultural Revolution), which is full of incense. There is a village beside the temple, and the alley that goes in and out of the village is called "Miao Xiang".

During the battle of Songhu on January 28, 1932, the 19th route army fought bloody resistance in Miaoxiang, blocking the attack of 30000 Japanese troops. The war reporters mistakenly wrote this battle as "Miaoxiang great victory" (lane and line, homonym of Shanghai dialect), and the name has been used ever since.

Miaohang was founded in 1956, and it belongs to the northern suburb of Shanghai.

In 1993, the township was removed to build a town, which was renamed Miaohang town.

In 1996, the area to the east of Gonghexin Road was divided into Sitang street and Tonghe Street (now zhangmiao Street). Miaohang town is to the west of Gonghexin Road, to the south of ganzaobang, to Dachang airport in the west, and to Pengpu town in Zhabei District in the south.

The original town government of Miaohang town is located at Gonghe new road and gongkang intersection. The new town government has completed the relocation and construction. The new site is located at 2699 Changjiang West Road, Baoshan District.

It has jurisdiction over Yeqiao, Kangjia and Changbei villages, three companies including Xinxing Industrial Company, Junli group company and Baoye Group Development Co., Ltd. and eight neighborhood committees including gongkang second village, gongkang Fifth Village, gongkang sixth village first residence, gongkang second residence, gongkang seventh village first residence, gongkang eighth village first residence, gongkang apartment and yilijiayuan.

The town covers an area of 5.96 square kilometers (43% of the area is construction sensitive area), with a permanent population of 103229 (in 2017). It has three administrative villages (Changbei, Yeqiao, Kangjia), three village level companies (Junli, Baoye, Xinxing, formerly known as Zhouxiang, Qianjin, Xinyi, etc.), and five town level companies（ Gongkang Economic Zone, asset company, business company, real estate company, property company).

During the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, the added value of Miaohang town and the local fiscal revenue at district level increased by 15.4% and 18.4% annually, respectively. At the end of the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, it was 1.7 times and 2.33 times of that at the end of the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period, respectively. The total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 16.5% annually. At the end of the 11th Five Year Plan period, it was 1.84 times of that at the end of the 10th Five Year Plan period. The total investment in operating fixed assets reached 1.89 billion yuan, 3.32 times of that in the Tenth Five Year Plan period. The pace of structural adjustment has been accelerated. During the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, nearly 100000 square meters of commercial buildings such as Junli fortune building have been built, and a number of major projects such as Shanghai Intellectual Industrial Park and Shanghai Wedding Center have been started and put into use. The development of e-commerce and other emerging industries has been accelerated, a number of e-commerce enterprises such as Yixun have been cultivated and expanded, and the agglomeration degree, output level and brand effect of Shanghai Intellectual Industrial Park have been further improved.

Urban and rural environment

Miaohang town has successfully established national health town, national beautiful environment Town, Shanghai civilized town and Shanghai dust pollution control demonstration zone. During the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period, the average annual growth rate of per capita net income of rural households in Miaohang town was 7.4%, and the net increase of 5259 yuan at the end of the "Eleventh Five Year Plan" period was higher than that at the end of the "Tenth Five Year Plan" period.
