Dongcheng Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hulin City, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the south of Hulin City, facing Russia across the Wusuli River in the East, Hulin town in the West and south, Weiguang Township and Hutou town in the north. The administrative area is 60.38 square kilometers.

Evolution of organizational system
In 1946, the fourth district was set up.
In 1956, Qingfeng township was established.
In August 1958, it was changed into Dongfeng commune.
In September 1959, changshehejing was the Dongfeng experimental farm of Mudanjiang agricultural reclamation.
In 1962, the market and society were separated and Dongfeng commune was established.
In 1984, the commune was transformed into a township.
In December 1995, the township was transformed into a town.
In April 2007, Zhongcheng township was merged.

Dongcheng Town is high in the West and low in the East. Muling River runs through the whole town from west to East. Yangmu river is located in Yanjia mountain and Lianhua Mountain in the west of the town. The source of Yangmu river is Yangmu reservoir. In the west, there are mountains and hills, and the soil is barren. In the East, most of the depressions are albic soil.
