Xialiangzi Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Jiguan District, Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the middle of Jidong county and on the Bank of Huangni River in the north of zhangguangcailing, the Yumai of Wanda mountain. It borders Xiangyang town and Mingde Township in the East, Pingyang town in the south, Pingyang town in the West and Donghai town across Huangni River in the north. The administrative area is 171.00 square kilometers.
By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in lower Liangzi township was 20261. As of October 2019, Xialiangzi township has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages.

History of construction
At the end of Qing Dynasty, a post station was set up.
In 1931, a puppet police station and a district office were set up.
In May 1946, Xialiangzi District of Mishan county was established.
In May 1947, it was transferred to Shui'an county.
In July 1949, it was transferred to Jining county.
In 1949, it was transferred to Jixi County.
In July 1950, Xialiangzi district was renamed Jixi eighth district.
In May 1956, Xialiangzi township was established.
In January 1957, it was assigned to Mishan county.
In August 1958, Liangzi commune was changed.
In April 1962, it was divided into Xialiangzi commune and comprehensive commune.
In January 1965, it was assigned to Jidong county.
