In 1927, Keli town belonged to No.5 and No.6 Bao of the first district. In July 1983, Keli commune was changed into Keli township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Keli town was 46742. In 2019, Keli town has 16 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in Keli village.

History of construction

The 16th year of the Republic of China (1927), is the first district 5, 6 insurance. The 25th year of the Republic of China (1936) is the first and sixth year. In March 1938, it belonged to Tailai street. In June 1939, it belonged to qiandemenshan village and wumiaozi village.

In April 1956, it was divided into two townships: Keli and qiandemenshan.

In September 1958, it belonged to Pingyang commune.

In February 1962, the Kremlin commune was established.

In 1967, it was renamed struggle commune.

In 1973, it was renamed Kerry commune.

In July 1983, Klee commune was transformed into Klee township.

The origin of place names

Keli town is named after the town government's residence in Keli village. The original name of Keri is derived from the Mongolian "Huhe hele", which means blue woods. Later it was changed to Kerry.
