Tailai Town, belonging to Tailai County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the south of Tailai County, bordering Shengli Mongolian Township in the East, Tantu town in the south, Heping Town in the West and Keli town in the north, with a total administrative area of 252.99 square kilometers.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Tailai town was under the jurisdiction of Tailai. In September 1980, it was changed from Tailai commune to Tailai town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Tailai town was 72096. In 2019, Tailai town governs 5 communities and 8 administrative villages.

History of construction
In 1913, the Tailai Administration Bureau was established. In 1917, it was the central market town.
In June 1955, it belongs to the first district.
In September 1958, the first district was changed into Huohong commune.
In 1960, Huohong commune was renamed Tailai commune.
In September 1980, Tailai commune was transformed into Tailai town.

History and culture
Tailai town was originally called "Tailai Qi". In the late Qing Dynasty, Tailai Qi was a small village in zalait banner. Later, the local Mongols called it "Tala opera". The sound changed to "Tailai Qi", which means "planting" in Mongolian. It is also called Tailai town because it is located in the center of Tailai County.
