Dongfeng area

Dongfeng district (Regional Office) belongs to Chaoyang District of Beijing. It is located in the middle of the area, 6.6km away from Ritan Park. Historical evolution

In 1947, it was a suburb, in 1949 it was an eastern suburb, in 1956 it was changed to Liulitun Township, in 1958 it was a Sino German friendship commune, in 1961 it was changed to Xinghuo commune, in 1978 it was merged with Dongfeng Farm to form Dongfeng commune, which was assigned to the Municipal Farm Administration Bureau, and in 1983 it was changed to Dongfeng Township.

In 1996, it covers an area of 6.4 square kilometers and has a population of 10000. It has jurisdiction over four administrative villages, namely, Dougezhuang, jiangtaiwa, Liulitun Dongkou and Xinzhuang, and seven neighborhood committees, namely, Agricultural Reclamation Bureau, Beijing Everbright company, Dongcheng commercial workers, Dongcheng teachers, Dongfeng pharmaceutical factory, Shifoying Dongli and Xili.

In December 2002, the 147th mayor's office meeting studied and agreed to set up a regional office in Dongfeng Township, implementing the system of "one set of people, two brands"; the office is located at No.1, Dougezhuang, covering an area of 7.28 square kilometers, with a population of 60000, and has jurisdiction over four administrative villages: Liulitun, shigezhuang, Xinzhuang and jiangtaiwa.
