In 1969, Daoyi commune was established; in 2007, Daoyi town was transformed into Daoyi street. At the end of 2011, the total population of Daoyi street was 33917. In 1969, moral commune was established.
In 1983, Daoyi commune changed its way to Yixiang.

History and culture
In ancient times, the Pu River in the village often overflowed, resulting in siltation of roads. People called this place "daoyutun". In 1887, Zuo GuiGui, the commander of Fengtian battalion, built a stone bridge in tunzhong. The bridge was built by the government, and it was not hard for the people to build a shovel. The villagers deeply respected it, so they changed "Dao Yu Tun" to "Dao Yi Tun", which gave the Street its name.
