Mingantu town is located in the central and southern part of Zhengxiangbai banner. It was founded in 1971 and is the political, economic, cultural and social activity center of Zhengxiangbai banner. Mingantu town is a central town which combines rural, pastoral and urban areas with animal husbandry as the main body and urban economy as the auxiliary. The total land area of the town is 2336 square kilometers, including 2066 square kilometers of usable grassland and 19 square kilometers of cultivated land. The total number of livestock in the town is 207318, including 11579 large livestock and 195739 small livestock. The town governs 6 communities, 25 Gacha, one administrative village and one breeding farm. The town has developed communication and convenient transportation. The Ji (ning) - Tong (Liao) railway and 304 international channel run through the whole town.
