Longde County governs the township. Located in the southeast of the county, the geographical coordinates are 106 ° 06 ′ - 106 ° 15 ′, 35 ° 24 ′ - 35 ° 32 ′. It was Shanhe town before liberation and Shanhe township at the beginning of liberation. In October 1958, Wuxing commune (in Shanhe Town, governing yuanshanhe Township and Minlian village of chenjin township) and Weixing commune (in sujiataizi, governing former Sutai Township and hougoumen village of dian'an township) were established; in April 1959, they were renamed Shanhe commune and Sutai commune. In March 1983, Su Tai commune changed its name to Chong'an commune and moved to Chong'an; in January 1984, it was changed to township. In 1996, Shanhe Township, with an area of 34 square kilometers and a population of 7000, governed 10 administrative villages including Shanhe, Beishan, Wangzhuang, yegou, bianzhuang, caizichuan, hepowan, Ertan, jumacha and Shibei; with an area of 66.5 square kilometers and a population of 6000, it governed 10 administrative villages including Chongan, damanpo, Jiangyuan, Diyu, xiaomanpo, miaoma, Malu, hanjiashanzhuang, Sutai and yougou. In 2000, there were 5952 people in Shanhe Township and 4767 people in Chongan township (all permanent residents of Wupu); in October 2003, Chongan township was abolished and merged into Shanhe township; in 2006, nine administrative villages including Wangzhuang, Shanhe, bianzhuang, caizichuan, Ertan, Shibei, Chongan, dadongpo and Diwan were governed. in 2010, there were 6536 permanent residents (sixth census).
