Liugou township is located in the north of Heshui County, 20 kilometers away from the county, with beautiful mountains and rivers and dense trees. The natural terrain is Sanchuan Siyuan, with a total area of 94 square kilometers. The cultivated land is 22100 mu. It has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages with 8078 people.

Origin of township name

Liugou Township, it is said that in ancient times, there was an ancient willow tree at the mouth of Wagang river. It was more than three Zhang high and more than ten thick. It was very lush, so it was named Liugou.

Economic overview

The township is rich in jujube, corn, white melon seeds, apples and so on. Cattle and sheep are the main animal husbandry. Greenhouse vegetables are well-known in the whole region, and are sold in and out of the region. Flue cured tobacco has developed steadily, and has become the main economic source of farmers.
