Hetan town

Hetan Town, belonging to Dongxiang Autonomous County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Dongxiang Autonomous County. On the valley terrace of Daxia River and Yellow River, it borders Liushu Township in the East, Dongyuan Township in the south, Hexi Township and Lianhua township of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Linxia County across Daxia River in the west, and Sanyuan town of Yongjing County across Liujia reservoir in the north. The area is 52.29 square kilometers. In 2018, 31864 people registered residence.

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the fifth and sixth meetings of BEIXIANG. In 1950, the river beach area was set up. In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Hetan township was established. In 1958, it was incorporated into Dongyuan commune. In 1961, Hetan commune was established. In 1983, the township was restored. In 2003, the township was removed to build a town under the jurisdiction of the county. In October 2019, Hetan town governs 2 communities and 9 administrative villages.
