The old name of the township, formerly under the jurisdiction of southern Sichuan county township, covers an area of 20.5 square kilometers, with 14 administrative villages.

Introduction to hometown

Longfeng township is located in national highway 212, bordering Jianxing town and Yifeng Township in the East, Yixing town in Xichong County in the west, nianya Township in the south, Huaishu town in Zhongnan Township in Xichong County in the north, and 35 km away from the county. It is the South Gate in the south. The township covers an area of 20.5 square kilometers, cultivated land area of 11735 mu, total population of 11792, 3194 households, including 1019 non-agricultural population. It has jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages, including dongdongshan, dujiaci, shimentang, lijiajie, xinmiaoling, huilongan, lianchiba, guojianlou, qiaolouzi, liguangshan, Longtan Temple, hongjunya, zhonghejing and banqiaozi, with a total of 89 villages. There are 1 Township Primary School, 7 village primary schools, 1 township health center and 14 village medical stations.

Natural resources

The main grain crops in the township include rice, corn, wheat, rape, peanut, sweet potato, pea, bean, pepper, cotton, etc. the poultry and livestock mainly include pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, ducks, geese, etc. There are 28 kilometers of agricultural canals in the township. Huangjiaba and guanghuasi agricultural canals pass through Longfeng and can irrigate 10 villages. Wuligou agricultural canal in Dahe Town can also irrigate lianchiba and huilongan villages. There are 10 irrigation stations in the township, with power of 340 kW and controlled irrigation area of 1000 mu. There are 48 ponds, reservoirs and weirs in the township. Xuanhe reservoir has 2.2 million cubic meters of water, which is one of the only three small (first) reservoirs in the county.
