Jiahe Township

Jiahe Township, subordinate to Jingning County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the southern mountainous area of Jingning County, adjacent to Renda Township in the East, Weidian township of Qin'an County in the south, Xinxu township of Tongwei County in the West and Lidian Township in the north. Jiahe township has a total area of 62 square kilometers and a total population of 11486.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the former Jiahe Township belonged to Renda township. In December 1979, Jiahe commune was restored. In November 1983, it was changed to Jiahe township. As of June 2020, Jiahe township has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in Jiancha village.

As of 2011, the total agricultural output value of Jiahe township was 73 million yuan, accounting for 85% of the gross domestic product, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1150 yuan. Jiahe township has a commercial output value of 64 million yuan and a per capita commercial income of 4600 yuan.

Historical evolution

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the former Jiahe Township belonged to Renda township.

In December 1949, Wuhe township was established in this area, belonging to the seventh district (Rendang).

In May 1953, the 12th district was established.

In June 1955, it was renamed Jiahe district.

In February 1956, it was incorporated into Rendang district.

In September 1958, it belonged to the Republic commune.

In 1959, Gonghe commune was merged into Renda commune.

In December 1961, Jiancha commune was set up from Renda commune.

In June 1962, it was renamed Jiahe commune.

In February 1964, it was incorporated into Renda commune.

In December 1979, Jiahe commune was restored.

In November 1983, it was changed to Jiahe township.

Jiahe township is located in the southern mountainous area of Jingning County, adjacent to Renda Township in the East, Weidian township of Qin'an County in the south, Xinxu township of Tongwei County in the West and Lidian Township in the north. The total area of the township is 62 square kilometers.

There are three beams and three gullies in Jiahe township. The terrain inclines from northwest to Southeast, with high mountains and steep slopes and crisscross gullies. The highest altitude is 1934 meters.
