Dongwan Town, subordinate to Jingyuan County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located on the East Bank of the Yellow River and in the north-east of Jingyuan County, adjacent to Wulan town in the south, facing mitan and Santan Township across the river in the west, Doucheng town of Pingchuan District in the north, and Baoji town, Gonghe town and Shuiquan town of hepingchuan District in the northeast, with a total administrative area of 229 square kilometers.
After 1912, it belonged to Dongwan Township Office; in 1983, it was changed to Dongwan township; in 2002, Dongwan township was built from township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Tung Wan Town was 43254. In June 2020, Dongwan town governs one community and nine administrative villages.
In 2011, the total financial revenue of Dongwan town was 90 million yuan, an increase of 7% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 58 industrial enterprises in Dongwan Town, including 4 Enterprises above Designated Size and 32 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
After 1912, it belonged to Dongwan Township Office.
After 1949, it was established as the Third District Office of Jingyuan County.
In 1958, Dongwan commune was established.
In 1963, it was changed to Dongwan district office.
In 1968, it was renamed Dongwan commune.
In 1983, it was changed to Dongwan township.
In 2002, the township was removed and the town was built.
