Mapo Township, belonging to Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the southwest of Yuzhong County in the alpine eryin mountain area. It is adjacent to Xinying Township in the East, Majian mountain in the south, Agan town in Qilihe district in the West and Xinglong Mountain in the north. The area is 165.52 square kilometers. In 2018, 16932 people registered residence.
After 1949, it was divided into Yuzhong County and jianmapo township. In 1955, it merged with Yangzhai township. In May 1983, the township was restored, with 6 villages in the East as Shangzhuang Township and 9 villages in the West as Mapo township. In April 2003, Shangzhuang Township and Yinshan Township were merged into Mapo township. In June 2020, Mapo rural area has jurisdiction over 23 administrative villages.
In 2018, Mapo township has a comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Nanxiang of Gaolan county.
After 1949, it was divided into Yuzhong County and jianmapo township.
