Yangdu Town, subordinate to Zhongxian County, Chongqing City, is located in the southwest of Zhongxian County, connecting Shizi Township in the East, Shizhu County in the south, Fengdu County in the southwest, Renjia town across the river in the northwest and Wuyang town in the north. It is 36 kilometers away from Zhongxian government, with a total area of 81 square kilometers.
In Yuan Dynasty, Yangdu town belonged to Nanbin County; on April 19, 1985, it was changed from Yangdu town to Yangdu town. By the end of 2018, the population of Yang Du town registered residence was 29485. As of June 2020, Yangdu town has one community and nine administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of the town is located at No. 373, Hongyang community.

History of construction
Yuan Dynasty, belongs to Nanbin county.
In 1931, it was designated as Honghe township.
In 1950, it belonged to seven districts.
In 1951, it belonged to the first district.
On August 24, 1952, Yangdu township was set up.
On February 20, 1953, Tonghe township was established from Yangdu Township, Honghe township was renamed Pu Township, and Lantian township was established.
In 1955, it belonged to 12 districts.

In 1958, Yangdu township was changed into Yangdu commune.
