Longting town is under the jurisdiction of Yang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the middle of Yangxian County, on the eastern edge of Hanzhong Basin, bordering huaishuguan town in the East, Hanjiang River in the south, Huang'an town across the river, Yangzhou street in the West and Changxi town in the north. Its total area is 127.98 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Longting town has jurisdiction over 22 administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the population of the registered residence in the town was 34073. Historical evolution

It was named "Dragon Pavilion" because it was built at the Bank of the Dalong river at the foot of Dalong mountain in the Qin and Han Dynasties.

Qin Dynasty belongs to the land of Qin Dynasty.

The county was set up in Jin Dynasty.

In Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Yangxian county.

After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to wanhuai Town, Yangxian County, Hanzhong Prefecture.

Cai Lun's tomb and ancestral temple

Cai Lun's tomb and ancestral temple are located in Longting Town, Yang County, Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. Longting town is one of the "four great inventions" and the place where Cai Lun, an improver of papermaking, died and was also the fiefdom of Cai Lun. Cai Lun, a native of Guiyang, was a minister in charge of the manufacture of imperial utensils in the Eastern Han Dynasty when he was Emperor. He summarized the creation of "Cai Hou paper" and was buried here after his death. Today, the tomb is 7 meters high, 30 meters long from north to South and 17 meters wide from east to west. In front of the tomb are the steles of "Xinjian ancestral temple" and "Tomb of Cai Lun, Marquis of Longting in Han Dynasty" erected in 1603, and the steles of Bi Yuan, governor of Shaanxi Province, erected in 1776. In the south of the tomb, there is Cai Gong temple.

On May 25, 2006, Cai Lun's tomb and ancestral temple were listed as the Sixth Batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
