Yongping Town, subordinate to Lixian County, Longnan City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Lixian County. In the Ming Dynasty, it was yongpingli (yongpingli).
In March 1941, Yongping township was established.
In July 1958, Yongping township was changed into Yongping commune.
In June 1983, it was restored to Yongping township.
In 2014, Yongping township was changed from township to town.
