Meiyuan town
Meiyuan town belongs to Fuping County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the northeast of the county, bordering Sufang town of Pucheng County in the East, Daoxian town in the south, Xue town in the West and Laomiao town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 8 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 11 kilometers, covering a total area of 78 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Meiyuan town has 16 administrative villages. As of 2018, the registered residence of the original town was 52396. In 2011, the total financial revenue of Meiyuan town was 1.95 million yuan, the per capita net income of farmers was 5459 yuan, and the total agricultural output value reached 170 million yuan.
Historical evolution
This is the place where the first emperor of Qin gave Wang Jian a thousand hectares of beautiful farmland, which was called Meiyuan in ancient times. It was named after the town government's residence in Meiyuan Village.
In the 21th year of the reign of emperor li of the Qin Dynasty (456 BC), Pinyang county was established in the area of modern ancient villages.

In December 1958, it merged with Tongchuan City and became Meiyuan commune, which was called Meiyuan management area.
In 1961, it was renamed Meiyuan commune.
In 1984, Meiyuan town was set up in the process of the separation of government and society.
In December 2001, the original leigufang township was incorporated into the town.

Fayuan Temple Pagoda
Fayuan Temple Pagoda is located in Xisi primary school, Meiyuan Town, 33 kilometers northeast of Fuping County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province (former site of Fayuan Temple). Residents live in the East, West and north of the pagoda. According to the second volume of Fan Zhi in Fuping County annals, "Fayuan temple is located in Meiyuan town. It was founded in Weixiang, with several towers inside.". It is said that the tower was built in Meiyuan County in the second year of Xianheng (671) of Emperor Gaozong of Tang Dynasty. It is nearly 20 meters high, 29 meters in circumference and 1.75 meters in wall thickness. The pagoda is decorated with seven petals of stone, and has a unique style. The whole body of the tower is exquisite, magnificent and generous. The three layers of the tower body are upward, leaving traces of repair. It is impossible to find out the age of the tower. The bricks on the surface of the first and second layers have been eroded.
On May 3, 2013, Fayuan pagoda was listed as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.

Wang Jian
Pinyang Dongxiang (now the Qianwang group of Balian village in Meiyuan town), a famous general of Qin State in the late Warring States period, together with his son Wang Ben, became the greatest meritorious official of Qin Shihuang who also destroyed the six states. Except Korea, the other five countries were destroyed by Wang Jian and his son. He was an outstanding strategist, and his command ability made him one of the four famous generals in the Warring States period, along with Bai Qi, Li Mu and Lian Po. Wang Ben
The year of birth and death is unknown. The son of Wang Jian, a famous general in the Qin Dynasty, and his father were the main generals in the war of destroying the six kingdoms. The next year, he led his troops to attack Wei, and diverted water from the Yellow River to irrigate Daliang, the capital of Wei (now the northwest of Kaifeng City in Henan Province). In the 25th year of the reign of the king of Qin (222 BC), he led his troops to attack Liaodong of Yan state, captured Yan Wang Xi and destroyed Yan. He returned to attack daiguo and captured Daiwang Jia. In the 26th year of the reign of the king of Qin (221 BC), he led his army to attack Qi from the south of Yan and captured Wang Jian of Qi.
