Sufang town

Sufang town belongs to Pucheng County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the west of Pucheng County, connecting with Xing town in the East, Jingyao town in the south, Fuping County to Xian town in the West and Meiyuan town in Fuping County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 8 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 11.9 kilometers, with a total area of 46.70 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

It was named after the original siwufang village where the town government was stationed (it is said that suwu had lived here when he was sent to Xiongnu by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty).

In the Han Dynasty, it was called siwufang, later renamed Sufang.

The Sui Dynasty belonged to Chongde township of Lianshao county.

In the Jin Dynasty, it was called siwuli.

The Ming and Qing Dynasties followed the old system.

In 1935, it belonged to Sufang joint protection of four districts (Xingshi town).

In 1941, it belonged to Longyuan township.

In December 1949, Sufang district was established.

In February 1956, it was renamed Sufang township.

In December 1958, it was the Sufang management area of Xingshi commune.

In August 1961, Sufang commune was established.

In March 1984, it was changed to Sufang township.
