Zhao Zhen

Zhaozhen, belonging to Liquan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of Liquan county. It borders Yanxia town in the East, xizhangbao town in the southeast, Chengguan town in the south, Shitan town in the West and Zhaoling town in the north. Its total area is 47.69 square kilometers.

As of June 2020, Zhaozhen has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages. As of 2018, Zhao town had 29358 registered residence population. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Zhaozhen reached 160 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 80 million yuan, and the total social commodity sales reached 18.5 million yuan.

Historical evolution

When the commune was established in 1958, it got its name because it was stationed in Zhaocun town.

In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were three townships and 18 Li in the county, and Zhao town belonged to Shixiao township.

In 1930, the Fifth District was stationed in Zhao town.

In 1939, there were 10 Lianbao and 5 towns in the county. Zhao town was one of the 5 towns.

In 1942, Zhao town and Beitun were merged into Zhaoling town.

On May 18, 1949, Zhao town belonged to Zhaoling, the fourth district.

In November 1958, Zhaoling district was abolished and 22 towns were merged into 9 communes. Zhaozhen commune has jurisdiction over shigu Township and Yanxia township.

In 1961, Yanxia township was set up separately from Zhaozhen commune.

In 1984, Zhaozhen commune was changed into Zhaozhen commune.

Water system hydrology

The groundwater reserves in Zhaozhen are abundant, but the distribution is uneven. The general trend of flow direction is from northwest to Southeast, which belongs to Jinghe River system.
