Gaoya Town, belonging to Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Yuzhong County. It is adjacent to chenggouyi township of Dingxi City in the East, Longquan Township in the south, Xinying Township in the West and Gancao Dian town in the north. The area is 74.12 square kilometers. In 2018, 11701 people registered residence.

In 1949, Gaoya township was established. In 1953, it was upgraded to Gaoya district. In 1958, Gaoya commune was changed. In 1983, Gaoya township was changed. In 1985, Gaoya town was changed. In June 2020, Gaoya town governs 11 administrative villages.
