Located in the east of Ewenki Autonomous Banner of Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, East Sumu of the Xini River borders Mianduhe Town, wunur town and Boketu town of Yakeshi city in the East, Yimin Sumu in the south, West Sumu of the Xini River in the west, Bayan Tuohai town and Bayan cuogang Sumu in the North, with an administrative area of 5869.9 square kilometers.
In 1922, Buryat banner was established; in 1954, Sumu on the Sinai river was divided into Sumu on the East and Sumu on the west of the Sinai River; in 2006, Sumu on the east of the Sinai River merged with Sumu on the west of the Sinai River to establish the town of the Sinai River; in 2011, Sumu on the east of the Sinai river was reestablished to restore the original administrative region. By the end of 2018, 5243 people had registered residence in the East River. As of June 2020, one community and eight administrative villages are under the jurisdiction of East Sumu of the Sinai river.

History of construction
In 1918, in order to avoid the war, some Buryats and Ewenks migrated from Lake Baikal to the Sinai River region.
In 1922, Buryat banner was established.

In 1954, Sumu on the Sinai river was divided into East Sumu on the Sinai River and West Sumu on the Sinai river.

In 1961, Menggen chulu people's commune was set up in some areas.
In 1984, Sumu in the east of the Sinai river was rebuilt, and the government was stationed in xinbaolige village.
