Chagan Mulun Sumu, belonging to Balin Right Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Balin Right Banner, adjacent to Bayantala Sumu and Xingfu road Sumu in the East, Daban Town in the south, Guandi town and 50jiazi town of Linxi County across the river in the west, and soboriga town in the north. The people's government is located in bayanhushuo village. Chagan Mulun Sumu administrative region covers an area of 964 square kilometers. In late 2018, Chagan Mu became the 15673 household registered residence.
In 1949, Balin Right Wing banner was incorporated into Zhaowuda League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with jurisdiction over 44 Gacha and 2 villages. In May 1957, it was rebuilt as Chagan Mulun Sumu. In November 1958, Chagan murun commune was changed. In 1961, it was divided into Chagan murun and bayanhushuo communes. In the spring of 1984, it was rebuilt as Chagan Mulun Sumu. In May 2006, Saxiang was merged with the town, and shabaltai Sumu and bayanhushuo towns were merged with Chagan Mulun town. In October 2019, Chagan Mulun Sumu governs 14 administrative villages.
In 2018, Chagan Mulun Sumu had 3 industrial enterprises and 21 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
