Baima Town, Pujiang County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, is one of the first batch of pilot towns and central towns for comprehensive reform of small towns in the province, and a strong town for education in the province and the city. It covers an area of 59.18 square kilometers (in 2017), with a cultivated area of 34000 mu. It has jurisdiction over 30 administrative villages with a total population of 22335 (in 2017). In 2005, the total output value of industry and agriculture in the town was 1.22 billion yuan, the fiscal revenue was 6.62 million yuan, the per capita income of farmers was 3382 yuan, and the natural growth rate of population was 2%.

There are 337 enterprises in the town, including 8 "127" engineering enterprises in the county. There are 1 group company, 2 enterprises with annual sales revenue exceeding 100 million yuan, 3 enterprises with annual sales revenue exceeding 50 million yuan, and 15 enterprises with annual sales revenue exceeding 5 million yuan. The leading industries are locks, clothing, paper making, building materials, textile, etc. "Pufeng" brand cement is a famous brand product in Zhejiang Province. Padlock products are mainly "shenhuan", "Zhangshi", "shunshi" and so on. The products are exported to Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Czech Republic, Romania, Middle East, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions. In recent years, six major technological transformation projects have been implemented, including Yongchang steel, Lantian paper, Lantang paper, Pufeng group, shenhuan lock and lemen valve. At the same time, four foreign trade enterprises, including Shengshi Crafts Co., Ltd., delishi Hardware Manufacturing Co., Ltd., maidun Crafts Co., Ltd. and Shengyuan clothing Co., Ltd., have been added. In 2005, the whole town realized industrial sales revenue of 1.16 billion yuan, industrial added value of 242 million yuan, technical transformation investment of 112 million yuan and profits and taxes of 86.78 million yuan.

Agriculture

The town has 11364 mu of arable land and 59890 mu of mountain forest; there are 33 small (II) reservoirs less than 100000 square meters, 4 small (II) reservoirs more than 100000 square meters, 1 small (I) reservoir more than 1 million square meters, more than 700 Shantang reservoirs, and more than 10000 mu of farmland benefited from water conservancy. Now it has developed seven agricultural industrial chains, including grain and oil, famous tea, flowers, grapes, goats, vegetables, breeding pigs and seedlings.

Science, education, culture and health

There is a middle school in the town with 1240 students, 5 primary schools (including 1 primary and secondary school and 4 completed primary school), 2500 students and 1 adult culture and technology school in the town. There are 49 primary and secondary classes and 91 teachers in the town. There is a central health center in the town with 4 branches and 15 in-service medical professionals. In 2003, 81% of rural grassroots cadres and rural labor force received popular science and technology training, 16% of young and middle-aged labor force received systematic training, and 5.3% of them obtained the qualification of peasant technician.

Honorary title

On July 29, 2020, Baima town was reconfirmed as a national health township (county) by the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee.
