Xinchang Town, belonging to Wudang District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located in the north of Wudang District, bordering Yangchang town in the East, Buyi Township in Xinbao in the south, Xiuwen County and Baiyun District in the west, and Kaiyang County in the north, with a total area of 89.75 square kilometers. As of 2018, Xinchang Town had 17251 registered residence population. By 2019, Xinchang Town has jurisdiction over 1 community and 13 administrative villages.
The Yuan Dynasty belongs to the Xuanwei Department of the eight fan Shun Yuan Dynasty. In July 1958, seven agricultural production cooperatives, namely Kelong, Xinchang, Dagang, Dagu, Guxi, jianpo and Yaoshang, were established; in December 1958, they belonged to Hongzhuan commune. In 1959, it was incorporated into Yangchang commune. In 1961, Yangchang commune was set up as Xinchang commune. In 1983, Xinchang township was reformed and 13 villagers' committees were under its jurisdiction. In 2013, with the consent of Guizhou Provincial People's government, Guiyang City abolished Xinchang township of Wudang district and set up Xinchang Town.
In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xinchang Town was 132.22 million yuan, an increase of 7.8%; the total output value of animal husbandry was 49.144 million yuan; the total financial revenue was 9.4 million yuan, an increase of 47.4%.
Historical evolution
The Yuan Dynasty belongs to the Xuanwei Department of the eight fan Shun Yuan Dynasty.
The Ming Dynasty belonged to the military and civilian government of Guiyang, and set up the new valley river fort, Dagu Fort (now Dagu) and pig farm Fort (now Dagang).
Qing Dynasty is Zanyang Prefecture Guizhu County, dongxiali and shuibianli.
In 1931, it belonged to six townships of Xinchang, wangba, Kelong, daling, Yaoshang and Yangmei in the Second District of Guiyang County.
In 1941, the city of Sheyang was officially established. Guiyang County was renamed as shezhu County, belonging to xinchangbao, kelongbao, yaochanbao, guxibao and wangbabao of Yangchang Township, Wudang district.
In 1952, it belonged to Xinchang Township and Guxi Township, the Ninth District of Guizhu county (Yangchang District).
In 1954, kelongbuyi nationality township was added.
In 1958, it belonged to Wudang District of Guiyang city; in July of the same year, it set up seven agricultural production cooperatives, including Kelong, Xinchang, Dagang, Dagu, Guxi, jianpo and Yaoshang; in December, it belonged to Hongzhuan commune.

In 2013, with the consent of Guizhou Provincial People's government, Guiyang City abolished Xinchang township of Wudang district and set up Xinchang Town.
