Dongjin Town, belonging to Beilin District of Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the eastern part of Beilin District, the middle reaches of Hulan River, and the connecting area of Songnen Plain with the remaining veins of Xiaoxing'an Mountains. It borders Huansheng township of Qing'an County in the East, Tianzeng township of Bayan County in the south, Xingfu Township and Jinhe town in the west, and Shuanghe town across Hulan River in the north. In 2018, Dongjin town had an area of 147 square kilometers and 27768 registered residence.

During the Republic of China, it belonged to Jinhe Town, Suihua county.
After the fall of Northeast China, it belonged to jinhebao at first and later to Jinhe village.
In 1946, it belonged to Jinhe district.
In 1951, it belonged to the seventh district.
In April 1956, Limin township was established.
In August 1958, it merged with three townships of Jinhe, Dongjin and Longtai to form Jinhe commune.
In 1961, Li Min commune was established.
