Qianjin town

Qianjin town is located in the northwest of Lianshui County, Jiangsu Province. It is adjacent to Liutang River in the West and new and old Zhanghe River in the East. 236 provincial highway, Lianma highway and Matang highway pass through the town. It is 10km and 20km away from Ninglian first-class highway and Beijing Shanghai Expressway respectively. The water and land transportation is very convenient. The town covers a total area of 51.03 square kilometers (in 2017), with 2820 hectares of arable land, one neighborhood committee (Tongxing) and 10 village committees (chenzhu, zhuhouwei, si'anzhuang, Xingbei, Qianjin, luodui, Daima, Dingkou, laodui, Mawei) with 20536 people (in 2017). The town government is located in Tongxing neighborhood committee, 40 kilometers away from Huai'an City and Lianshui County. In 2006, the county government received letters and visits from the whole people, and was commended by the county government for the work of establishing a safe county. In January 2007, he was awarded the title of "hometown of Qinshu in Huaihai" by China Folk Artists Association.

In the same year, when the township was withdrawn and merged, Maduo town was put under the jurisdiction of Qianjin Town, with 37 administrative villages and 294 villager groups under its jurisdiction. In 2002, the former Maduo town was designated as the economic development new area of Lianshui County from Qianjin town. At this time, Qianjin town has jurisdiction over 19 village committees. There are 153 civilian groups. In April 2003, Qianjin town merged 153 villager groups from 19 village committees into one neighborhood committee, 10 villager committees and 76 villager groups. During the Anti Japanese War, Huaihai administrative office and Lianshui County democratic government were stationed in luodui, diaoxiangzhuang, zhuhouwei and other places of the town. In January 1943, general Zhong Wei, the archetype of Li Yunlong, the main character in the TV series "Liangjian", established the 28th regiment in chenlaozhuang, Qianjin town. The first party member, the first party group and the first party branch of Lianshui County were all born in Qianjin town. Before liberation, it was once the red base of Lianshui County. Many revolutionaries, such as Zhu Muping and Zhu Bingqing, embarked on the revolutionary journey from here.
