Donghe Township

Jinhe town is located in the east of Liangzhou District, Wuwei, Gansu Province, with an area of 15 square kilometers, including 23539 mu of cultivated land. It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, including wangjingzhai, chenjiazhai, zhengjiazhuang, lijiazhai, jiuzhuang, Dazhuang, Laozhuang, caijiatan and Goukou, and 66 villager groups, with a total population of 12615. There are 10 primary and secondary schools with 2893 students and 1 health center. The town government is located in zhengjiazhuang village.

In January 2017, according to the reply of Gansu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on 11 townships including Donghe Township in Liangzhou District of Wuwei City, Donghe township was changed from township to town and renamed Jinhe town.

Geography and geomorphology

Jinhe town is located 22 kilometers east of Wuwei City, adjacent to Huangyanghe farm in the East, Hedong Township in the south, Wunan town in the west, Qingyuan town in the north, and on the edge of Tengger Desert. The town covers an area of 48 square kilometers, including 23539 mu of cultivated land. It belongs to Pingchuan grain and oil area of Liangzhou District. The terrain is flat, and it is located in the downstream of Zamu river system. It is irrigated by river water and well water. The altitude is 1590 meters, the annual average temperature is 7.9 ℃, the daily range is 15 ℃, the annual frost free period is about 155 days, the annual sunshine hours is more than 2968 hours, the annual average precipitation is 161 mm, and the annual evaporation is 2020 mm.

Due to the fragile natural environment at the edge of the desert, through the implementation of comprehensive agricultural development projects, a farmland network with canals, roads and forests has been formed. The content of soil organic matter has increased year by year, and the conditions of agricultural infrastructure have been improved. The greening rate of villages has reached 95%, and the forest coverage rate has reached 20%.

The town government is located in group 3 of zhengjiazhuang village.

Jinhe town has a vast area and sufficient light. Now it has formed the characteristic advantage industry of animal husbandry, solar greenhouse vegetables and seed production, and the characteristic economic crops cultivation of beer barley and sugar beet. Caijiatan village has achieved remarkable results in the construction of a new socialist countryside, with ecological civilization, well-off housing, out of courtyard ecological breeding community, solar greenhouse, biogas digester supporting construction, and strong flavor of new countryside. Wangjingzhai ancient city site, wangjingzhai Han tombs are provincial cultural relics protection units, unearthed a series of Majiayao cultural relics.

Economic summary

The economic income of Jinhe town mainly comes from planting, breeding and the tertiary industry (labor economy). In 2007, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township reached 207.3 million yuan, including 61.96 million yuan of planting output value, 81.92 million yuan of animal husbandry output value, 62.42 million yuan of tertiary industry and Zhiwu income, and 4094 yuan of per capita net income of farmers.
