Xiangyang Community has a population of 25718 square kilometers.

In 1963, the fifth neighborhood committee was established and renamed as Wuyang neighborhood committee in March 1986; in 1963, the sixth neighborhood committee was established and renamed as Xiangyang neighborhood committee in March 1983; in 1987, the ninth neighborhood committee was set up from the sixth center and renamed as Jingyang neighborhood committee in March 1983; in 1990, the Jianyang neighborhood committee was set up from Xiangyang neighborhood committee; all of them were derived from the name of Chaoyang Street and named after the word "Yang". In 2001, the four neighborhood committees of Jianyang, Jingyang, Xiangyang and Wuyang were abolished and Xiangyang Community was merged.
