Taipingfan township is located in the southwest of Huoshan County, Anhui Province, at the junction of three counties (Huoshan, Yuexi, Yingshan) in Anhui and Hubei provinces (Lu'an, Anqing, Huanggang, Hubei). It is 85 kilometers away from the county seat. It is the seat of the original people's Government of xiaotaipingfan Township, named after Taipingfan.
