Jiefang township is under the jurisdiction of Lizhu District, Keqiao District, Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. In October 1949, Shaoxing City was changed into Shaoxing City (county level), and Lizhu district was established. Jiefang township was subordinate to Lizhu district.

In October 1980, it was changed into Lanting commune. In July 1983, it was transformed into Lanting township. Lougong town (formerly Jiefang township) was established at the end of 1991. During this period, they all belonged to Lizhu district. In May 1992, after withdrawing the district and expanding the town and merging the township, it was changed into Lanting Town, which was formed by the merger of Lougong town and Lanting township. So far, the name of Lanting town has been used to this day, and the memory of Jiefang township will stay in the long river of history forever.
