Yanglin Township, subordinate to Shaoshan City, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, is located in the northwest of Shaoshan City, bordering Ruyi town in the East, Shaoshan town in the south, Baitian town in Xiangxiang City in the West and Mashan Township in Ningxiang County in the north, with an administrative area of 62.28 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, Yanglin Township belonged to the seven capitals of Xiangtan County; in 1984, it was changed to Yanglin township. By the end of 2018, Yang Linxiang had a registered residence population of 20522. As of June 2020, Yanglin township has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in the original Chiang ancestral hall 300 meters above Yanglin bridge.

In the Qing Dynasty, Yanglin Township belonged to the seven capitals of Xiangtan County.
In the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to the Second District of Xixiang, Xiangtan County.
In 1932, it was the Ninth District of Xiangtan County.
In 1937, it belonged to Qingtian township of Xiangtan County.
In 1950, it belonged to the third district of Xiangtan County.
In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged.
In 1958, the township was withdrawn and Shaoshan people's commune was divided.
In 1961, the former Shaoshan people's commune was divided into five communes: Shaoshan, Yongyi, Ruyi, Yintian and Yanglin.
In 1984, it was changed to Yanglin township.

Yanglin township is a hilly area in Hunan Province. Luoxianzhai and Tianzishan in the north, heishizhai and Shiping mountain in the South form natural barriers. Heishizhai, the highest point in the territory, is 500.9 meters above sea level, and Shanfu village roadside pool (formerly known as Bailongtan), the lowest point, is 95 meters above sea level.

The river course in Yanglin Township belongs to Xiangjiang River Basin. Shao River in the territory of the north of the birthplace. The first stream of the North source flows from luoxianzhai in Yunyuan village to Aiqiao in the southeast through Yunyuan, Fengxing, bailing, Lianghe and other villages; the second stream flows from Shutang mountain in Shutang village to Aiqiao in the East through Lianyi, waping, Chunhe and Yanglin. After the two streams converge, they continue to flow southeast into Yanglin village and Shaohe river.
