Xingfu town is located on the North Bank of Shandong Peninsula and in the northwest of Zhifu District, Yantai City, 4.8 km away from the seat of Yantai municipal government. It is surrounded by the Yellow Sea in the East, North and West, connected with Huanhai, Tongshen, fenghuangtai sub district office and Zhichu town in the south, and faces Yantai Economic Development Zone by dagujiahekou in the southwest.

The town is famous for its developed industry. Since the farm tool repair factory was established in 1958, the town has owned small and medium-sized industrial enterprises such as ship dismantling, ship repair, casting, spraying, hardware, electrical appliances, smelting, chemical industry, beverage, oil pump, leather goods, clothing, felt making, printing, environmental protection equipment, alloy furnace tube, etc., which has promoted the agriculture, industry, transportation, commerce and catering services of Xingfu town Industry and other economic development.

Historical evolution

In 1398, it was the Northeast baozhifu community of Fushan County. In 1908, it belonged to Zhifu District of Fushan County, Yantai district and Ninghai District of Muping County. In 1932, it belonged to the first and second districts of Fushan County and Ninghai District of Muping County. In 1935, it belonged to the third autonomous region of Yantai City, the first and second districts of Fushan County and Ninghai District of Muping County. In 1937, it belonged to the first and third autonomous regions of Yantai Special Administrative Region and Fushan County. In 1938, it belonged to the first, third and fifth districts of Yantai city.

In 1946, it belonged to Zhishui district and Zhifu town. In 1947, Zhishui district was assigned to Fushan County, and in 1949, part of the territory was assigned to Zhifu District of Yantai city. Zhifu district was changed into the Fifth District in 1950, the Fourth District in 1952 and Zhifu District in 1955.

The happy people's commune was established in October 1958, changed to happy town in April 1984, and cancelled on December 19, 2000.

Natural conditions

The terrain of the town is high in the north and low in the south. The hilly area of Zhifu Island is in the north, and the ridge line is northwest. The main mountains are LAOYESHAN, huangshipo, shanxitou, changzuishan, Dongwangshan and Beishan, among which LAOYESHAN is the highest peak in the territory, with an altitude of 294.1 meters. The central part is the island connecting sandbar between the mainland and Zhifu Island, with Zhifu Bay in the East and Taozi Bay in the north. The southern part belongs to alluvial marine plain area, with flat surface, 1.2-1.5 meters higher than the high tide surface. The coastline of the territory is 29 kilometers long, and the coastline of the island is 23 kilometers long. There are mainly sea cliffs, headlands, lagoons, sand mouth and so on. There are 22 islands and reefs in the eastern sea area. The main island is Kongtong Island, with an area of 0.88 square kilometers and an altitude of 63.8 meters. It is 5.9 kilometers away from the nearest point of the mainland coastline. There is no natural river in the town. The main river is only Xingfu River, with a total length of 2.7 kilometers and a drainage area of 3.9 square kilometers. It is a seasonal river. The total area of the town is 2767 hectares, including 23 hectares of cultivated land and 1010 hectares of tidal flats. Fishery and aquaculture are the main industries of agriculture. The main products are Guyu, chub mackerel, blue spotted mackerel, green scale fish, prawn, small scale, kelp, mussel, scallop, abalone, sea cucumber and other marine treasures.

There are Wang, Zhang, Li, Liu, sun, Yu, Zhao, Yang, Lu, Chen and other surnames in the town, of which Wang is the most.

The total income of rural economy of this town ranks the first in Yantai and one of the top 100 towns in Shandong Province. Zhifu Island is the largest Lulian island in China. "Zhifu" is famous at home and abroad as another name of Yantai. In May 1867, donghaiguan built Luxun lighthouse on Kongtong Island, which was later renamed Yantai lighthouse,

After the completion of Yantai Mountain lighthouse in 1905, Yantai lighthouse was renamed Kongtong Island Lighthouse.

In April 1911, more than 40 fishing boats in the waters of Kongtong Island were sunk by a storm, and more than 130 fishermen were killed, which was the most death of fishermen in Yantai's modern fishery history.

In December 1915, the Japanese ship "hanhewan" from Dalian to Yantai sank on the rocks behind Zhifu Island due to strong wind, killing more than 360 people.

In July 1922, the Ministry of communications of the national government set up Yantai radio telegraph office in xishawang to communicate with more than 10 cities in China.

In 1934, Xiaji family of Dongkou village established the first chicken and duck company in dongshankuang, laopokou, Zhifu Island, to raise excellent chicken breeds at home and abroad.

In 1935, Fushan County Private Primary School was established in Datuan village. President Yu huanting, chairman an Huimin and Chen Zhifeng.

In March 1943, the Japanese imperialists exploited iron ore and plundered the economy in popokou, Zhifu Island. In October 1945, the 37th Shandong Baoan brigade of the Kuomintang occupied Kongtong island by boat from Tanggu.

On the 29th, the Jiaodong military region, the eastern Navy division and the Yantai workers' picket team launched an attack on the enemy of Kongtong island. After eight hours of fierce fighting, they recovered the island.

In May of this year, Zhifu town government was established. The CPC Yantai Municipal Committee appointed Lin Ruiting as secretary and Xu Min as mayor.

In December of that year, Li Haiquan of beiqiaohu village donated 10000 yuan to expand Xingfu primary school, built 12 new school buildings, and enrolled more than 100 children.

On July 5, 1946, more than 30000 people from the Dongjiang column of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, led by commander Zeng Sheng, arrived at Yantai port from Dapeng Bay, Guangdong Province by American landing craft (rented). The next day, they were stationed in Zhifu village, and were warmly welcomed by the whole village.

In October 1947, the 25th reorganized division of the Kuomintang army entered Zhifu village, and the Kuomintang homecoming regiment made a comeback. Yan Zhenxi, Zheng Shan, and Yang Qizhong, members of the Communist Party of Xinsheng village, were respectively "thrown a big anchor", stabbed to death with needles and electrocuted. In June 1948, the steam turbine "Heshun" sailing from Dalian to Yantai was shelled by the Kuomintang warship "Yongxiang" in the Houhai of Zhifu Island, killing 68 people.

At 10:00 a.m. on July 26, 1949, Zhifu district was hit by a typhoon of magnitude 12, which lasted until the evening of the next day. The roofs of most houses were cut off by the wind. 120 hectares of crops, 21000 fruit trees and more than 40000 kg of grain were destroyed. 51 fishing boats were destroyed and 88 were injured, with a total economic loss of about 30000 yuan.

In the spring of 1950, sun Wenxu, a communist of Xingfu village, set up the first mutual aid group in Yantai.

In February 1951, Yantai city began to suppress the counter revolutionary movement, and the Fifth District arrested 24 counter revolutionaries. Zhang Jize, a blood debt ridden bully, and Gao Jinglou, a puppet Baochang, were executed one after another on the east coast and Xingfu river.

In April of that year, a river digging army of more than 2000 people was formed by Yantai municipal organs, people's organizations, garrisons and farmers in Xingfu, Xinsheng and deli villages. After 16 days, the Xingfu River grew up to 4.5 kilometers. In July of that year, a campaign to resist US aggression and aid Korea, join the army and donate money was launched. By the end of September, five people had joined the people's Volunteer Army and donated a total of 71.768 million yuan.

In the spring of 1952, Xingfu, Xinsheng and deli villages began to build shelterbelts along the Wangxi coast of Xisha. After five years, the shelter forest with a length of 17.5 km and a width of 0.5 km has been completed. About 20000 trees are planted every year.

In the autumn of that year, Soviet experts visited the orchards of Tan Jixing and Li Haiquan in xishawang.

In September 1953, 24 fruit farmers in Xingfu village established the first fruit production cooperative in Yantai City, named "Xingfu society", and its president, sun Wenxu.

This year, the first cultural station in Yantai was established.

That year, Wang Zhonglan and Wu Meizhen, women of Kongtong Island Village, broke the old rule that women could not go out to sea for the first time. They fished hundreds of Jin at a tide and were selected as Yantai model workers.

On September 2, 1954, Wang Defu, member of the supervision committee of Kongtong Island fishery production cooperative, attended the National Youth activists Congress, was received by Chairman Mao Zedong, and participated in the fishermen representative forum of the National Youth activists Congress held by the fisheries administration of the Ministry of agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries on September 29.

In April 1955, Kongtong Island Village purchased a pair of 40 horsepower fishing boats with provincial loan.

In December 1956, Xia Hongdian, Secretary of Xikou village Party branch, was elected member of Yantai Municipal People's Committee.

In February 1957, according to the instructions of the higher authorities, eight natural villages in Zhifu district were divided into three townships, namely Xingfu Township, Zhifu Township and Kongtong Island Township.

That year, a delegation from seven provinces (cities) organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Fisheries visited Xikou fishery cooperative to learn the high-yield experience of cultivating kelp.

In February 1958, Xia Hongdian, a model worker of Shandong Province, went to Beijing to attend the national aquatic products work conference. He was commended by the Ministry of aquatic products and received by Chairman Zhu De and other leaders.

In August of that year, the happy people's commune was established, with Yu Jianguo as its secretary and mu Quanxiang as its president.

In December of that year, Zhao Shifa of the happiness brigade went to Beijing on behalf of the happiness commune to attend the National Conference of advanced units in agricultural socialist construction, and Premier Zhou Enlai presented a certificate of award.
