Mingyue Town
Mingyue Town, under the jurisdiction of Antu County, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, is the resident of Antu County People's government. It is located in the northeast of Antu County, bordering Shimen town in the southeast, toudao town of Helong city in the south, Xinhe Town in the southwest, liangbing town and Dashitou town of Dunhua City in the northwest, and Sandaowan town of Yanji City in the north, with an administrative area of 885.48 square kilometers.
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden area. In October 1983, it was changed to Mingyue Town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Mingyue Town was 66510. As of June 2020, Mingyue Town has 45 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2011, the total revenue of Mingyue Town was 30 million yuan, an increase of 19% over the previous year. Among them, local fiscal revenue was 73 million yuan, an increase of 23% over the previous year. The per capita net income of farmers is 7573 yuan. In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in Mingyue Town, including 6 above scale enterprises and 20 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the early Qing Dynasty, it was a forbidden area.
Qing Guangxu seven years (1881), belong to Nangang (now Yanji) Reclamation Bureau Chongli society.
In 1910, Xuantong county was established.
In 1912, it belonged to wengshenglazi village, the third district of Yanji county.
In 1936, it was renamed Mingyue village.
In 1945, it belonged to Mingyue District of Yanji County, with jurisdiction over 6 villages.
In February 1946, Mingyue city was changed.
In May 1948, Mingyue district was changed.
In May 1949, Antu County was transferred to Antu County. In July of the same year, Antu County moved here and changed its name to county and district.
In 1955, it was renamed Mingyue district.
In 1956, it was changed to Mingyue Town.
In 1958, Mingyue Town was transformed into a commune.
In 1969, the county government moved to Songjiang.
In October 1983, Mingyue Town was changed, and the county government moved to Mingyue Town.
In 1998, Fuxing township was incorporated.
In 2003, Changxing Township was incorporated.
In 2019, the administrative division of Mingyue Town will be adjusted from 894.98 square kilometers to 885.48 square kilometers, including Jiulong street, wengsheng street and Changxing street.

Mingyue Town is located in the middle and low mountain area of Changbai Mountain, north foot of Changbai Mountain, high in Northeast, northwest and southwest, low in Southeast. The terrain is medium undulating low mountain landform, and the ground is generally 550 meters above sea level. The main mountains are Wangyue mountain, tuyue mountain and huanggouling. The highest peak is located in the northwest of the town, 952.4 meters above sea level; the lowest point is located in Mingyue Town textile factory, 336 meters above sea level.

The river course in Mingyue Town belongs to Tumen River Basin. The main rivers are Buerhatong River, Changxing River and Fuxing River, which converge in Mingyue Town. Burhatong river flows out of the county through Shimen town and into Tumen River, with a length of 60 kilometers. There are 7 tertiary tributaries of Tumen River, including Fuxing River and Changxing River, and 6 tertiary tributaries. The annual average runoff is 313.18 million cubic meters, 51.12 million cubic meters in wet year and 35.63 million cubic meters in dry year. Fuxing river was called daomugou river. It belongs to Tumen River water system and a tributary of burhatong river. It originates at the northern foot of huanggouling and converges at the southern end of Erlong mountain in Mingyue Town. It has a total length of 38 kilometers, a drainage area of 384 square kilometers, a river gradient of 4.5% and a drop of 325 meters. It flows through Fuhe, Fuman, Daoxing, Fuxing, Qingqiu, Yongsheng, Mingyue lake, Hexi and Shengguang. Mingyuehu reservoir is built in the downstream, with one power station and three barrages in the middle. The irrigation area is 755 hectares, which is used for part of Mingyue Town. Changxing river is unknown. In 1981, the geographical name census, because it flows through the territory of Changxing, so it is called "Changxing River". Located in the southwest of the town, it belongs to Tumen River water system. It originates in the southwest of erqingbei and flows into Buerhatong River in Mingyue Town. It has a total length of 44 kilometers, a drainage area of 459 square kilometers, a gradient of 18.4%, a drop of 359 meters and a flow of 3.24 cubic meters per second.

The main natural disasters in Mingyue Town are gale, flood, drought and so on. The most serious flood occurred on July 28, 2010, involving villages such as Taiyang, Qingqiu, Facai, Shanquan and Fuli. The affected area reached 705 hectares, 90 houses were damaged, and the direct economic loss was equivalent to RMB 39.42 million.
