Shanglingqiao town is located in the east suburb of Lengshuitan District, Yongzhou City, Hunan Province. Three kilometers away from Lengshuitan City, the town government is located in Longtang village.
Transportation
In October 1989, Lengzhu highway was opened to traffic, which improved the traffic condition in the territory. There are 018 County Road (Lengzhu Road) and Yucai Road East extension section. As it is less than 4km away from the east entrance of Yongzhou, the G55 National Expressway (ER Guang Expressway), the traffic advantage of the town is very obvious. In the future, with the expansion of the urban area of Lengshuitan, Yiyun road and Zhongxing Road will extend eastward to the town, so that the town and the urban area of Lengshuitan will become one, from the suburb to the urban area, and the highway density will increase rapidly, showing the style of "East Gate" of Lengshuitan.

Shanglingqiao town was established in 1995. Lengshuitan was Changsha County in Qin Dynasty, Quanling County in Western Han Dynasty, Quanling County in Eastern Han Dynasty, and Lingling County in 589 ad. In the 1940s, Tanshi town was established and changed into Lengshui town after the founding of new China. In June 1960, with the approval of the State Council, Lengshuitan city was established. It has jurisdiction over five communes, namely, the urban area and coral, shuilangba renwan, malujie and shanglingqiao. In October 1962, the city was withdrawn and the town was restored, still under the jurisdiction of Lingling county. In January 1969, it was a town directly under the central government of Lingling Prefecture, which was abolished at the end of December of the same year. In January 1970, the district and the town were unified and governed by five communes in one town. In January 1975, the district and the town were divided. In June 1984, with the approval of the State Council, Lingling county was abolished and Lengshuitan city was restored. Lengshuitan town of Lingling county and Baitang township of Lengshuitan District, huangyangsi District, puliqiao District, chujiangwei district and youtingwei district were under the jurisdiction of Lengshuitan city. In November 1995, Lingling district was abolished and Yongzhou City was set up at prefecture level. Lengshuitan city was changed into a district, and its jurisdiction remained unchanged.
