History of construction
In the Xianfeng Period of the Qing Dynasty (1851-1861), it belonged to xianghebao of Huairen county. In 1902, it was assigned to Ji'an County.
In the early years of the Republic of China, it belonged to four districts of Liangmin dianzibao and one district of Dahuanggou Bao. In August 1945, it belonged to the eighth District of Ji'an County.
In March 1956, Liangmin and Huangbai were established.
In September 1958, Liangmin and Huangbai townships were merged into Yajiang commune; in December of the same year, Yajiang commune was renamed Huangbai commune.
In April 1962, Huangbai commune was renamed Qingshi commune.
