Jinsha Town, belonging to Liangzhou District, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the middle of Liangzhou District. It is adjacent to Jinyang town in the East, Baishu town in the south, Huaian town in the West and Yongchang Town in the north, with an administrative area of 18.15 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Jinsha town was 16428.
From the Western Han Dynasty to the Wei Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms, Jinsha town was located in guzang County, Wuwei County; in July 1983, Jinsha township was established; in January 1986, Jinsha and Xianxian townships were merged into Jinyang township; in November 1991, Jinsha township was established; in September 2015, township was withdrawn to build a town. As of June 2020, Jinsha town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 9 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Jinsha town is located in wangjialaozhuang village.

History of construction
From the Western Han Dynasty to the Wei Dynasty, Jinsha Town belonged to guzang County, Wuwei County.
From the Western Jin Dynasty to the "Wuliang" period of the Sixteen States, it belonged to guzang county and Yanran County of Wuwei County respectively.
From the Northern Wei Dynasty to the early Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Linzhong County of Wuwei County.
During the Tang and Song Dynasties, it belonged to guzang county and Shenniao county respectively.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Liangzhou in the west of Yongchang Road.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was successively returned to liangzhouwei county and Wuwei County.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it belonged to fengle and Jinyang districts of Wuwei County.
After September 1949, it belonged to fengle and Jinyang districts.
In July 1952, it belongs to the first district (Jinyang) and the 17th district (Huai'an).
In January 1956, it was Jinsha township.
In October 1958, Jinyang, Jinsha and Zhongba townships merged to form Jinyang commune.
In 1962, Jinsha commune was established.
In July 1983, Jinsha township was established.
In January 1986, Jinsha and Xianxian townships were merged into Jinyang township.
In November 1991, Jinsha township was established.
In September 2015, the township was removed to build a town.
