Dapo town
Dapo Town, located in the southeast of Longwei District, is the hometown of Li Jishen, former vice chairman of the Central People's government and Li Peiyao, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress. It is adjacent to Yunan County in Guangdong Province in the East, Guangping town in the south, Xindi town in the West and Longwei town in the north. The town government is located in dapowu. It is 18 kilometers away from Longwei city and 28 kilometers away from Wuzhou City. Nanning Guangzhou expressway, Cangwu Guangdong Yunan highway, Longwei Guangping highway and Nanning Guangzhou high speed railway transit. The total area of the town is 261.83 square kilometers. In 2016, it has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages, 1 community, 176 natural villages and 280 villager groups. The resident population was 57320 (2017).
Historical evolution
In the fourth year of Wu Tianji of the Three Kingdoms (280), Xinning County was set up in the town. The county governs Dacheng (now Chengcun), which governs Guangping town and Dapo town.
From the Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China, there are three townships: Guangai, Changxing and Jiyang.
In 1933, it was called canopy area.
It was divided into three townships: Shengzhou, Jiyang and Guangai.
It was subordinate to Guangping District in December 1949, called the third district in October 1950 and Dapo District in 1955.
In December 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, which was divided into Dapo and Liaoshen. In September 1958, it was called Dapo people's commune.
In 1961, it was divided into two communes, Dapo commune and Hebu commune.
In September 1962, the region and the commune were withdrawn, and Dapo and Hebu were merged, still known as Dapo district.
It was changed into Dapo commune in January 1966.
In September 1984, it was called Dapo township.
In December 1988, the township system was changed from township to town.
In 2006, the town had 18 villager committees, 1 community neighborhood committee, 176 natural villages, 280 villager groups, 1464 households and 55286 people.
In 2013, some administrative divisions of Wuzhou City were adjusted: Longwei District of Wuzhou City was established. The administrative areas of Longwei district are Longwei Town, Xindi Town, Guangping town and Dapo town in Cangwu county.

Tongwok mountain is located in Dapo town in the south of the county, adjacent to Pingtai Township, Yunan County, Guangdong Province. Its main peak, jixinding, is 753.1 meters above sea level. The main products are sugar orange and rice. In 1949, the town had 2240 hectares of arable land and 3850 hectares of grain sown, with a total grain output of 14900 tons and 129 kg per mu. In 1956, the cultivated land area was 2432 hectares, the sown area was 4504 hectares, the total grain output was 17700 tons, and the yield per mu was 131 kg. In the mid-1970s, the movement of "learning from Dazhai in agriculture" was carried out. The masses actively reclaimed the land, and the area of cultivated land increased.
