Sheqi suburban township is located in the south of the county. It is surrounded by the county in the East, South and West. It is adjacent to Mopi Township and haozhai town in the East, Lidian town and Xinglong Town in the south, Qiaotou town and dafengying Township in the West. The township government is located in the middle of Changjiang Road in the south of the county. Nanzhu road and Fangtang Road pass through the territory, and three rivers, Zhaohe River, Panhe River and Tanghe River, meander through the territory. The township governs 15 administrative villages, 71 natural villages and 183 villager groups.

The township is high in the northeast and low in the southwest, with a north-south trend. Penggang village, the highest point, is located in the northeast of the township. The northeast is mostly hilly land, and the West and South are mostly plains. The soil is sandy black soil, yellow brown soil and fluvo aquic soil, mainly loess.

There are Han, Hui, Korean and Zhuang nationalities in the township. By 2008, the total number of households in the township reached 16000, with 45000 people, including 23000 males and 22000 females, with a sex ratio of 113:100. The population density is 672 per square kilometer. The total cultivated land area of the township is 64000 mu, and the per capita cultivated land of farmers is 1.4 mu.
