Jinshan street belongs to Meijiang district, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. Located in the east of the north of Meizhou River, it combines urban and rural areas, borders Xiyang town in the East, Xijiao sub district office in the west, Meijiang River in the South and Chengdong town of Meixian District in the north, with a total area of 35.21 square kilometers. As of October 2019, Jinshan sub District has jurisdiction over 12 communities and 10 administrative villages. By the end of 2019, there are 19154 households in Jinshan street, with a total population of 65678, including 33470 males and 32208 females.

In the early years of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, Chengxiang county (now Meixian County) was divided into 36 fortresses. The territory was collectively referred to as the city, belonging to dongjiebao and xijiebao. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it still belongs to Meicheng town. In 1988, the county and district offices were set up separately, and the central office was renamed Jinshan office, subordinate to Meijiang district of Meizhou city. In August 2002, the original Jinshan office, Dongshan Office and Dongjiao town were merged into Jinshan street.
In 2019, the total output value of industries above Designated Size of Jinshan Street will reach 150.64 million yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods will reach 315.96 million yuan.

In the early years of the Republic of China, the Qing system was still used. In 1931, when the fort system was changed to the district township system, the territory was attached to towns and townships in the city. In 1937, when the Baojia system was carried out in towns and districts, it belonged to Meicheng town.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it still belongs to Meicheng town.
In May 1975, the Central District Management Committee was set up, directly under Meizhou Town, Meixian County. It was formed by the merger of 22 neighborhood committees from Jinshan, Zhongshan and Dongfeng sub district offices of the former Meicheng town.
In December 1978, Meizhou town was upgraded to Meizhou City (county level), the Central District Management Committee was abolished and the Central District Office was established.
In March 1983, Meixian County and Meizhou City (county level) merged to form Meixian City, still known as the central district office.
In 1988, the county and district offices were set up separately, and the central office was renamed Jinshan office, subordinate to Meijiang district of Meizhou city.
In August 2002, the original Jinshan office, Dongshan Office and Dongjiao town were merged into Jinshan street.
